Reactivated Powdered Activated Carbon

Reactivated Powdered Activated Carbon

Our reactivated activated carbon is remanufactured to meet or exceed the typical requirements for a carbon based injectate (CBI).  Due to the highly variable mixture of solvents and fuels that our found at impacted properties, our GR-320-IRC-R is a proprietary mixture of coconut shell and bituminous coal reactivated carbon. We use a mixture of reactivated carbons because some contaminants have a higher affinity for coconut shell carbon, where others bond more readily to bituminous coal.  Our GR-320-IRC-R is a great value for uses where virgin carbon is not necessary and is characterized by the following properties:

  • Very high surface area
  • High hardness
  • Low dust generation
  • Low ash content
  • Highly developed pore structure
  • Excellent dispersion properties
  • High organic removal efficiency
  • Iodine number up to 900
  • Very fine grained with 90% passing the 325 mesh (smaller than 44 microns)

All reactivated carbons are definitely not created equally. Some lower priced and very high priced carbon products can have low iodine numbers and high dust content.
